Introduction
The NL Scholarship, formerly the Holland Scholarship, is a €2,500 grant funded by the Dutch Ministry of Education and UTwente. It’s designed to support students undertaking study, internships, or graduation assignments outside the European Economic Area (EEA) tailored specifically for current UTwente students.
About the Scholarship
Available for one-off use per student, this scholarship aims to bridge expenses related to short-term international mobility, encouraging academic and cultural enrichment globally.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify, you must:
- Be enrolled in a full-time program at UTwente.
- Have not previously received an NL Scholarship or Holland Scholarship.
- Be planning a mobility outside the EEA, lasting 7–52 weeks, and earning at least 10 ECTS.
- Be registered in Mobility Online, with credits contributing to your UT degree.
- Not combine this with other UT outgoing scholarships like Erasmus+ or TMF.
- Complete prerequisites for your international activity (e.g. minor, internship, thesis work).
- Ensure your destination country is not listed as unsafe by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Application Process
- Register your mobility in Mobility Online and get approval from your faculty.
- Access and complete the scholarship questions as part of the “before the mobility” section.
